Vincent Morgavan

VINCENT VINCEMORGAVAN age 83 of Crown Point passed away Friday September 28 2007. He fought a courageous fight from cancer. Vince was born in East Gary the youngest male of eight siblings to George & Katherine Morgavan on January 24 1924. He graduated from Froebel High School in 1941. He then served his country in the U.S. Army worked for Pau Mar Engineering Inland Steel Co. for 29 years Southlake Limo for 5 years and most recently with Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service for over 14 years. Vince was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge #170 for 47 years the Croatian Retired Club Inland Steel Retirees Club and the 25 Year Club a 30 year member of the Loyal Order of Moose a past vice-commander and cook from the American Legion Post #207 and a former member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Joseph S. Ryder Council #4047. Vince was an avid fisherman bowler reader and a sweepstakes & health enthusiast. Survived by beloved wife of 57 years Betty daughters: Helen (Dave) Batusic of Crown Point Elizabeth (Paul) Kyriakides of Highland and son Ray Morgovan (Thomas Bender) of San Rafael CA grandchildren: Lisa (fianc Chris Westforth) Jim and John Batusic Marc Julia and Steven Kyriakides one brother Andy Morgavan of Greensboro NC sister-in-law Ann Lieber of Valparaiso brother-in-law John (Betty) Chelich of Hobart many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by siblings: Florence George Ted John Helen and Katie. Vince never met a stranger he didnt like and cherished his friendship with Tom and Karen Pruzin Jerry and Jan Camp and his many doctors nurses and caregivers at St. Anthony Medical Center and St. Anthony Home (Skilled Care). Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville Monday from 2-8 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 4:00 p.m. and an American Legion Service at 4:30 p.m. Funeral service will be held Tuesday October 2 2007 at 9:30 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 A.M. from St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 330 E. 45th Ave. Gary with Rev. Steven Loncar and Rev. Gerald Schweitzer concelebrating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery Merrillville.
