J. Meschede

J. JEFFERY MESCHEDE age 56 of Lakes of the Four Seasons passed away peacefully at home Sunday December 3 2006. He was born in Gary IN on June 10 1950 and was a lifelong resident of Northwest Indiana living in LOFS for the last 30 years. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Betty and his brother John. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 37 years Judy (nee Drohosky) his four children: Amy (Rick) Kreczmer of Granger IN Jason (Vanessa) Meschede of Crown Point Elizabeth (Ryan) Witham of Cedar Lake and Kathryn (Matt) Zalat of Fishers IN his six grandchildren: Isabelle Maya Zoe Natalie Luke and Jeffrey siblings: Robert Meschede of Hebron Lynn (Carl) Horvath of Florida Louis (Theresa) Meschede of Schererville Kathleen Meschede of Calumet Township Richard (Jennifer) Meschede of Hobart and many nieces and nephews. Jeff spent his entire 38-year career in the steel industry. After leaving National Steel in 1987 he joined Century Steel a subsidiary of Esmark Inc where he was Vice President of Corporate Purchasing. A member of numerous organizations he served on the Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of America International Steel Buyers Forum and Gary Sportsmen Club. He was a very generous and caring person not only to his immediate family but also to his extended family and the community. He was an enthusiastic fan of Notre Dame football and loyal member and Past President of Gary Sportsmen Club. His biggest pleasure in life were his grandchildren who dearly referred to him as Papa. Jeffs family had an unforgettable Thanksgiving weekend together and his grandchildren will remember the last trip to the circus with their Papa. He touched the lives of those that knew him and will be deeply missed by all. Friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville Wednesday from 2 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday December 7 2006 at 10:15 A.M. from the Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 11:00 A.M. from Holy Spirit Catholic Church (7667 E. 109th Ave. Crown Point) with Rev.
