HELEN ZIELINSKI age 95 of Crown Point and a lifelong area resident passed away Tuesday April 10 2007. Survived by three children: Eugene (Judy) Zielinski and Gerald Zielinski both of Merrillville Jackie (Ted Borggren) Stuck of Crown Point ten grandchildren: Dr. David (Michelle) Zielinski of Destin FL Capt. John Paul (Amy) Zielinski of San Antonio TX Daniel (Jacqueline) Zielinski of Chicago IL Amy Zielinski of NY Mark (Mary) McGuan of CA Susan (Marty) Prybys of Crown Point Joannie Zielinski of CA Donna Keyser of CA Jennifer (Doug) Holok of Crown Point Brian (Stacey) Stuck of CA many great and great-great grandchildren sister Bernice (late Frank) Ellis of CA many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband Stanley son-in-law Ray Stuck sister Genevieve Siminski two brothers: Benny and Anthony Kloc granddaughter Laura Green and great granddaughter. Helen was born in Ralphton PA August 7 1911. She was a lifelong friend of Pope John Paul II attended his installation as Pope in 1978 and spearheaded the John Paul II Cultural Center in Rome. She worked on the National Ethnic Affairs Committee with Presidents Richard Nixon Gerald Ford Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter and represented the organization in Spain. She participated on the Committee for the Restoration of the Statue of Liberty. She was known for her leadership in many civic cultural community and world-wide artistic endeavors and studied voice at The Chicago Conservatory of Music. She was a member of St. Hedwig Church and sang in the St. Cecilia Choir. An honorary member of American Polish Singers Alliance and headed the National Youth Conference for several years which emphasized Polish dancing and singing and was a former member of the Chopin Chorus. She was a member and past President of the largest Polish womens organization the Polish Womens Alliance and was currently Honorary President. Helen was founder of PWA Group 815 Queen of Peace a member of PWA Group 81 a member of Daughters of Isabella Bishop Noll Circle #359 Madame Curie Circle P.N.A. Lodge #3134 PRCUA and American Legion Auxiliary Unit #207. She received the Ambassador Award from Orchard Lake Schools Michigan. Friends may call at St. Anthony Nursing Home 203 Franciscan Dr. Crown Point Thursday from 5-7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home only. Friends may also call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service 6360 Broadway Merrillville Friday from 2-8 p.m. D of I Rosary at 2:30 p.m. Madame Curie and Queen of Peace Service at 3:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday April 14 2007 at 9:45 a.m. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:30 a.m. from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church 200 E. 78th Ave Merrillville with Rev. Gerald Schweitzer officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery Merrillville. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Crown Point Community Foundation.
