Helen Bikoff

HELEN H. BIKOFF age 90 passed away Wednesday February 13 2008. She was a life long resident of Gary and Merrillville Indiana. Survived by three sons: Robert W. Bikoff of Crown Point IN David (Betsy) Bikoff of Indianapolis IN and Norman J. (Linda) Bikoff of Camby IN (formerly of Merrillville) six grandchildren: Robert Jr. (Kris) Rebecca Jason Philip (Chris) Bikoff Kimberly (James) Lehr and Kenneth (Lauren) Bikoff numerous great grandchildren brother E. Michael Hanton sister-in-law Diane Bikoff and family of Merrillville IN nephew Eli Marposon of Syracuse NY god child Marialyce (nee Costea) Prior. Preceded in death by husband Wassel parents Zakarie and Marie Hanton nephew Jacques Marposon sister Olivia Marposon daughter-in-law Linda grandson Spencer Bikoff. Helen was a member of the Romanian Orthodox Church Descent of the Holy Ghost Gary/Merrillville. She was Pres VP Sec and Treas of the PUI DE LEI and sang in the choir. She was a charter member of the Steel City Boys Club of America Tolleston branch Pres Sec and Treas a volunteer on numerous community projects worked with the Democratic Party on election boards township assessor and was a member of the Mamaliga Club. Helen graduated from Froebel High School Patricia Stevens Career College Dale Carnegie and the School of Real Estate. She grew up as a boxer and diver who loved dancing and music. She retired from U. S. Steel Gary Works in 1983. Helen was a 50 Year Memberof the Women of the Moose since 1948 becoming Senior Regent in 1960 and earning degrees of Academy of Friendship College of Regents and Star Recorder. She was the instituting officer for numerous chapters and the Official Visitor to Annual State Conferences in Indiana Illinois Michigan and Wisconsin. She was appointed by the International Women of the Moose as a Deputy Grand Regent for the State of Indiana 1966-67 a Grand Council member 1970-72 (the policy making board) and a Mooseheart/Moosehaven Admissions Representative. She was also a charter member of the Indiana Moose Association of the Higher Degree Council. Helen was a loving wife mother grandmother friend and mentor. She will be sadly mourned and deeply missed by all who loved her.
