Gary Jarrell

Gary Lee Jarrell 64 (n. August 7 1944) of Valparaiso formerly of Belle West Virginia soared from the bounds of his earthly home on the wings of angels July 3 2009. Garys father and mother Ova and Inez Triplett Jarrell and his beautiful daughter Paula Kay heralded his arrival with a celebration of his new eternal freedom at the foot of the Lord. Gary was a 1963 graduate of DuPont High School in Belle. Upon graduation Gary answered his first calling to serve his country in the United States Navy for four years. His second mission was to marry Drema Kay Lucas his loving wife of the past 42 years. Drema Kays parents Paul and Kathleen Lucas were also awaiting Garys arrival in Heaven with Ova Inez and Paula Kay. Gary Lee and Drema Kay immediately established their home in Valparaiso with Gary starting a long industrious career finishing with Bethlehem (Mittal) Steel. He is a member of the United Steel Workers Local 6787. Drema Kay and their son Paul Lee (Christina) also of Valparaiso will share their cherished memories of Grandpa Gary with his beloved granddaughter Catrina Lynn Jarrell and step-grandson Nicholas Kuehl. A lifetime of amusing stories and cherished memories from Belle and Valparaiso are shared by Garys Sister Sue Ann Brown of Valparaiso his brothers Shannon Hayes (Connie) of St. Charles Illinois and Conrad (Jennifer) Jarrell of Valparaiso. Drema Kays Sister Joyce (Hubert) Bass of Charleston West Virginia and her brothers William (Sue) and Eddie (Louise) and sister-in-law Juanita all of Charleston and Charles (Linda) Lucas of Poca West Virginia will eagerly reminiscence their loving memories of their brother-in-law. Uncle Garys many nieces and nephews have adoring tales of his benevolent ways as they grew up with their beloved uncle. Gary is also rejoicing with two brother-in-laws who passed over previously Gary (Sue) Brown of Valparaiso and Wyatt (Juanita) Lucas of Charleston. Extended family and friends are invited to share their affectionate memories of Gary on Monday July 6th at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Services 2700 Willowcreek Road in Portage from 2 pm to 8 pm and hour before services on Tuesday. A celebration of Garys earthly life will take place at Emmanuel Baptist Church at 760 McCool Road in South Haven at 11 am on Tuesday July 7th where Gary Lee and Drema Kay worship. The Reverend John Allen will be presiding. Committal service will take place at Calvary Cemetery at 2701 Willowdale Road in Portage.
