Charles Kleinschmidt

Charles Lee Chuck Kleinschmidt born June 22 1946 Oshkosh Wisconsin died December 30 2008 from complications of Fabry Disease at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester Minnesota. After graduating from Oshkosh High School and completing his first semester at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Chuck enlisted in the US Naval Hospital Corps School at Great Lakes Illinois. He was honorably discharged from the Field Medical Service School Marine Corps Base at Camp Lejeune North Carolina. Chuck married Janice Babel on August 9 1969 in Oshkosh Wisconsin. In 1973 following military service he began a career in healthcare at Rockford Memorial Hospital in Rockford Illinois Chuck was the Administrative Director of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging. From 1978 to 1988 he worked as Vice President of Operations at Phoenix Memorial Hospital in Phoenix Arizona. In 1988 he began a 13-year tenure at St. Anthony Medical Center of Crown Point as Vice President of Professional Services. In 2001 Chuck was named Administrator for Cancer Health Treatment Centers in Merrillville Indiana. He retired in 2007. During his career Chuck earned both a Bachelors and Masters degrees in business administration. Chuck was very active in the community serving on the American College of Health Care Executives part-time faculty of Calumet College of St. Joseph board of directors of Southlake Center for Mental Health President and Board of Directors for the Crown Point Community School Corporation the YMCA Community Fund Raising Campaign and other community organizations. The service clubs he belonged to were Kiwanis and Rotary. Chuck was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Beecher Illinois.Golf was a passion and after moving back to the Midwest he was able to pursue the sport while being a member of Youche Country Club. However he was never able to match Janices success with a hole-in-one. As the disease weakened his body fishing became a pleasurable hobby. His parents Don and Helen (Stille) Kleinschmidt preceded him in death. He leaves behind his wife Janice of Crown Point children Andrew (Bobbi) Kleinschmidt of Van Wert Ohio and Rebecca (Jon) Dailey of Crown Point brothers Robert (Nell) of New York and K. Alan (Kathleen) of San Francisco sister Melissa (Ken) Sulich of New Market Minnesota grandchildren William and Erin Kleinschmidt loving nieces nephews relatives and friends. Friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service 811 E. Franciscan Rd. Crown Point (south of S.R. 231 on S.R. 55) on Sunday from 2-8 P.M. Funeral services will be held Monday January 5 2009 at 11:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Zion Lutheran Church 540 Oak Park Avenue Beecher Illinois 60401 with Rev. Ron Rock officiating.
